You can grant permissions to system-wide settings, and objects, such as assets, and system custom objects, such as currency, and to the custom objects that you create.
Tip
Expand Configuration. You can grant or restrict access to the following objects: Configuration, Credentials, Custom Objects, Integration Sync Sessions Workflow, and API Tokens.
- Click Configuration > Security.
- Click Roles.
- Click a role.
- Click the Permissions tab, select an object or system-wide setting such as Configuration, and then assign permissions.
- If you want to refine the information that is shown to the user, click ADD A FILTER. For example, you can select a field such as Change Date and specify a period.
- Click the Navigation tab. Add the objects that you granted access to as menu items so that users can view them when they log in. For example, if you granted Asset permissions, make sure to add Assets to the Navigation.
- Click Save.
Important
Let's say, you want read access to an object. Not a problem. Just change the permissions for the object, add the menu items to the Navigation tab, and save the role. You can downgrade your permissions, but you can't, for security reasons, upgrade your permissions.
