Connect Oomnitza and KACE in minutes

Before you start

To stream KACE data into Oomnitza, you must add credentials to the vault in Oomnitza.

You need the following credentials and connection information:

  • Your KACE username and password
  • The URL of your KACE instance

When you register with KACE and install your KACE instance, you can access the documentation that you need to get your credentials and the URL of your instance.

Add credentials to the vault in Oomnitza

To authorize connections between Oomnitza and KACE, complete these steps:

  1. Log into Oomnitza.
  2. Click Settings > Credentials, and then click Add new credential (+).
  3. Ensure that Basic Auth is selected.
  4. Add your KACE username and password.
  5. Click SAVE

Next step

You use the credentials that you added to create and customize your KACE integration with Oomnitza.

Info and connect details

  1. Click Settings.
  2. On the Integrations page, scroll down to the Extended section for Assets.
  3. Click NEW INTEGRATION.
  4. In the New Asset Integration sidebar, click KACE.
  5. To integrate Oomnitza with the KACE Asset Load (with software), click APPLY and then click NEXT twice.

On the Connect page, complete these steps:

  1. Enter a descriptive name for the integration such as KACE Assets and Software. That'll be the name of the integration that is shown on the Integrations page.
  2. To retrieve information about software, such as the software name and version, click Software.
  3. Select Cloud as the installation type.
  4. Enter the name of the integration user.
  5. Enter the URL of your KACE instance.
  6. Click Next.

Mappings

Map the KACE fields to Oomnitza fields and create custom mappings to get the information that you need to manage your desktop assets.

Tip
To sync the information that is streamed from KACE to Oomnitza, select the Serial Number field.

When you've completed mapping KACE fields to Oomnitza fields, click NEXT

Schedule

By default, KACE data is streamed to Oomnitza once every day.

You can configure the schedule to meet your needs such as changing the interval or changing the time so that the data is streamed when your system isn't busy.

  1. Configure your schedule.
  2. Click FINISH.

Result

A new tile is created for the integration on the Integrations page. 

What to do next

If you want to see what information is collected now, click the tile on the Integrations page and click RUN.

If you want to change the integration settings, you can click a navigation link on the page, such as 4 Mappings, and edit the settings. 

Tip
To view the information that is collected about your network-connected assets, click Assets. To view information collected about software, click the asset in the list on the Assets page, and then click the Software tab.
