Tutorial: Refining role access to assets belonging to a department

You want to refine access to assets for the IT Engineer role based on the department that users are assigned to. 

Procedure

1. Click Configuration.
2. Click Security > Roles.
3. Click the IT Engineer role.
4. Click PERMISSIONS.
5. Click Assets.
6. Click ADD FILTER and select Department.
7. Add the following filter:

    Department > Equals > Static 6000 Engineering 

8. Save your changes.

Result

When a user with an IT role logs into Oomnitza, they will only see the asset records that are assigned to the engineering department.
