Best practice
For the integration with Oomnitza, create a dedicated user account.
The Mosyle API discussed in this section communicates with Mosyle Business and uses the following endpoint: businessapi.mosyle.com.
Please note that the Oomnitza integration with Mosyle has updated its authorization process. For integrations created from October 9, 2023, onwards, Session authentication is required instead of the previously supported basic authentication. When creating the integration or workflows, select the Session Based alternatives.
For session-based authentication, you are required to enter your email address, password, and API token. The username should be in the email address of the Mosyle user. You must ensure that the user account has the appropriate permissions to fetch assets and users.
Generate an Access Token
Before you use the Mosyle API complete the following steps in your Mosyle instance:
- Select Organization from the navigation bar.
- In the Integrations sidebar select the Mosyle API integration.
- Click Add new token. Enter a token name and click Save. Make sure to copy your Access token and store it securely.
- Activate your token by setting it to Enabled.
Next
Add your Mosyle credentials to Oomnitza.
Adding the credentials
For integrations created on or after October 9, 2023, use Session-based authentication. To use Session Authentication in Oomnitza, complete the following steps:
- In Oomnitza, click Configuration > Security > Credentials.
- Click Add new credential (+).
- Search for the Mosyle [Asset/User] Load Session Based, and then click the forward button > to select the integration.
- Enter your session-based credentials and any other additional information.
- Click CREATE.
Next
You use the credentials that you added to create and customize your Mosyle integrations with Oomnitza.
