When you use objects and custom objects to add dropdown lists, the default information that is associated with the object is used to populate the options in the dropdown lists that you add.
In most cases, it's the name of the object. For the Assets object, it's the asset tag and for the Users object, it's the username.
To set the display for object dropdown lists:
- Click Configuration > Data Model >Objects.
- Select the object from the list.
- In the Object records labels row, select a the subtitle. For example, Accessory Name and Accessory Category.
- Save your changes.

Important
You must ensure that the field or fields that you select to identify records such as Accessory Name contain values. If you select a field that is not populated either manually or by a data source such as an integration or import, the record can't be identified. Moreover, when you attempt to select a value from a list in a field that uses the object as its data type, the value or values won't display making it impossible to select the value that you want.
In this scenario, a field that is not populated is selected to identify user object records.

Tip
Add a filter in object list view to check whether a field that you want to select contains values
