Adding your Nautobot credentials to Oomnitza

Best practice
For the integration with Oomnitza, create a dedicated user account.

Nautobot uses API Key authentication and requires your API Key to be added to Oomnitza.

To obtain your API Key, complete the following steps:

1. Log into Nautobot
2. Select your username, then select Profile
3. Select API Tokens and create a token.
4. Leave the key blank to automatically create a token, or create your own.
5. You do not need to enable write permissions to use the integration or workflows in Oomnitza.
6. Enter an expiration date and description (optional).

Tip
Don't forget to keep a copy of the Access token (API Key), and store it securely.

Adding your credentials

To stream Nautobot data into Oomnitza, add the credentials that you obtained to Oomnitza:

Make life easier and add your credentials to Oomnitza before you create the integration.  

1. In Oomnitza, click Configuration > Security > Credentials.
2. Click Add new credential (+).
3. Search for the integration, and then click the forward button > to select the integration.
4. Add your API key.
5. Click Create.

Integration not in the list? Click Advanced Mode and complete these steps:

1. Add the information details.
2. Click the AUTHORIZATION tab.
3. Ensure that API Key is selected as the Authorization type.
4. Ensure that the Token Name is Authorization 
5. Enter "Token" followed by a space and the API Key. For example,Token aefgd-adw3n-jknadd78l1kjndc.
6. Ensure that Add to Header is selected.
7. Click CREATE.
