Oomnitza’s release cadence follows a predictable triannual schedule. Customers will know when to expect each release which will help customers plan and ensure that their organizations make the most out of new releases.
Major releases will occur three times a year: January, May, and September.
Between each major release, a patch release will occur: March, July, and November.
Why is this important?
A clearly communicated schedule will provide our customers with predictable, high-quality releases that will enhance our customers' experience of Oomnitza.
What to expect before, during, and after a release
Before a release
- 30-Day Notice with Release Summary. A detailed summary will be sent out before the release providing you with an overview of the changes to expect.
- Release Notes. At least 25 days before the release, the release notes will be published.
- In-App Notifications. A reminder notification will be displayed in the Oomnitza user interface 7 days before the release.
- 72-hour Notice. The last email reminder will be sent about the upcoming release.
During and after a release
- On-Demand Webinar. Access to webinar that dives deeper into the new features and updates.
- Lunch & Learn Session. Interactive session where you can ask questions and get real-time feedback.
- Online Community Discussions. Engage with other users, share your thoughts, and provide feedback.
Patch releases
The release notes for each patch will be published and an in-app notification will be posted 7 days before the patch release.
Versioning model
The versioning system that is used clearly identifies the nature and scope of each type of release:
- Major Releases (X.0.0). Large, impactful updates that introduce significant new features, enhancements, and architectural changes.
- Minor Releases (X.X.0). Minor updates that focus on feature improvements, optimizations, and refinements.
- Patch Releases (X.X.X). Maintenance updates that address bug fixes and security enhancements.
- Hotfixes (X.X.X-X). Critical updates that are deployed outside of regular release windows to fix urgent issues.

The release cadence, enhanced communication, and versioning model will offer our customers with a predictable, structured, and higher-quality release. Customers will be able to plan and integrate releases more effectively.
