Migrate the configuration of new and changed objects from your source instance to your target instance.
Before you start
Review the planning information and complete the required actions for migrating the configurations of standalone objects.
About migrating configurations
If you want to migrate multiple or all of the types of standalone objects from your source to your development instance, you complete the migration in the following order:
- Custom objects
- Business objects
- Roles
- Screen designs: Web and mobile
- Saved searches
Then, you migrate the following objects in this order:
- Dashboards and widgets
- Workflows
- Credentials
- Global settings
- Integrations
For each object that you migrate, you complete the following actions:
- You test the migration
- You complete the migration
Depending on the type of object that you select, you might be prompted to make additional choices. For custom objects, you are prompted to sync the migration. If you sync a custom object, the custom object and its related items are migrated.
Migrate the configuration of new and changed standalone objects from your source instance to your target instance.
Testing the migration
When you run the migration in test mode , the migration is validated and you’re notified whether the migration can be completed or can’t be completed because of dependency violations or other issues. The results of the migration test are recorded in the Sync Session log.
- Log into your source instance of Oomnitza.
- From the menu, Configuration > Migrations > Migrate.
- Click PERFORM MIGRATION.
- Select Standalone as the migration type.
- Select the scope such as Custom Objects.
- Select the related objects. You can select one, multiple, or all of the objects. To select multiple objects, press Ctrl and left-click the mouse.
- Click NEXT.
- To validate the migration, click TEST.
Important
To check the status of the items that are being migrated, click Migrations > Migration Log. To get more information, click the migration item.
Complete the migration
Resolve the issues that were detected, and then repeat the migration procedure
- Click PERFORM MIGRATION.
- Select Standalone as the migration type.
- Select the type of object and related objects that you tested.
- Click NEXT.
- Click MIGRATE.
