Extended integrations are upgraded to capture new features in vendor applications.
If an integration requires an upgrade, you will receive the following notification:
A new version is available. You can upgrade to the latest version or continue using the current version. Typically, upgrades involve minor changes to field mappings or to the details of the integration.
This notification is used to make you aware of minor changes to the integration such as:
-
- Addition, modification, or removal of fields. For example, a new field like "Serial Number" has been added to the mapping, or the "Zone" field is now a required integration input.
- Changes to the API URL, parameters, or headers in the integration request. For instance, the API has been upgraded from v1 to v2.
It is recommended to upgrade as soon as possible. To upgrade, simply click Upgrade. You can then edit your integration to update the mapping or review the added/modified fields. For additional information, refer to the documentation link provided in the integration.
In cases where a more significant change has been made to the integration, you can continue using the existing version. However, if you decide to upgrade, you must create a new integration. The notification will state:
A new version is available, however, there is a change that requires you to create a new integration. You may continue to use the current version.
Significant changes to the integration usually involve:
- Alterations in the authentication type, such as switching from basic authentication to OAuth.
- Changes in the software name.
To switch to the latest version, complete the following steps:
-
- Edit the current integration and rename it to indicate that it is an older version.
- Click Pause.
- Create a new extended integration, which represents the latest version with all the updates.
- When you complete testing, open the older integration and click Delete.
If you receive the following notification, it means that the extended integration can still be used but is no longer supported and marked as retired in Oomnitza:
No further updates are available for this integration. For a list of supported integrations click Add integration in the Integrations menu.
