Adding your Asana credentials to Oomnitza

To sync Asana with Oomnitza, retrieve your connection credentials, such as your client ID and secret, and add your credentials to Oomnitza.

Before you start 

To easily find the records that are uploaded to Oomnitza, it's best practice to create a dedicated user account for each integration. This will make it easier for you to retrieve the records that are uploaded to Oomnitza from the vendor application. 

Creating integration users 

Before you integrate Asana with Oomnitza, complete the following actions:  

• Log into your Asana developer account.
• Generate your OAuth client ID and secret
• Enter the following URL as the redirect URL https://generic-oauth2-proxy.oomnitza.com/oauth2/redirect_url.

Important
In Asana, ensure that as distribution method for your Asana app, you choose the Any workspace option. See Asana: Share your app.

Adding your credentials

To stream Asana data into Oomnitza, add your credentials to Oomnitza.

When you add your credentials, you must enter an Asana scope which determines access to the information in Asana that can be synced with Oomnitza.

The default scope can be used to access all endpoints.  Learn more about Asana scopes

1. In Oomnitza, click Configuration > Security > Credentials.
2. Click Add new credential (+).
3. Search for the integration, and then click the forward arrow > to select the integration. 
4. Enter your client credentials and any other additional information.
5. Click Authenticate. You are prompted to log in to authorize your request.
6. Click CREATE.

If the integration is not listed, click Advanced Mode, and add your credentials.

1. On the INFORMATION tab, complete these actions:
   1. Add the name of the credential such as Asana Users.
   2. Add the name of the owner. 
2. On the AUTHORIZATION tab, complete these actions:
   • Ensure that OAuth 2.0 is selected as the Authorization type.
   • Ensure that Asana is selected from the SaaS list.
   • Enter your client ID and client secret.
   • Enter a value for scope, which is either defaultor profile.
   • Click Authenticate.
3. Click CREATE.
