To maintain data hygiene, you can archive and delete obsolete records.
Depending on your company's policies and to ensure that you comply with regulations, you might need to retain certain records for specific periods before you delete them permanently from your system. To do this, you can archive the records. When the period for retaining the records expires, you can delete the records permanently from your system.
Deleting records is a two-step process:
- You archive the records.
- You delete the records.
Important
Deleting user records involves anonymizing user data. Before you delete user records, you must complete remedial actions. For example, if the user is named as the point of contact in a stockroom or assigned a contract, you must remove them as a point of contact from the stockroom and unassign the contract. Learn more
