To gain visibility of your enterprise technology portfolio, Oomnitza uses integrations. Oomnitza integrations sync with your organization’s existing data sources to render a true picture of your organization’s technology portfolio such as:
- Endpoints, networking, and infrastructure hardware, both physical and virtual.
- Desktop software and SaaS applications.
- SSO and SAML endpoints.
More integrations are being added daily!
Integrations are key to consolidating data from existing siloed tools to gain visibility of your system landscape. The following types of integrations are available:
- Extended integrations
- Basic integrations
- SaaS Management integrations
- Shadow IT integrations
- SSO integrations
- Service desk integrations
- API integrations for workflows
- REST API for outbound integrations
- Vendor integrations for purchasing information
- EXCEL and CSV integrations
Extended integrations
Extended integrations allow you to connect Oomnitza with a wide range of applications and systems, so you can get a more complete view of your technology landscape.
There are two types of extended integrations:
Vendor extended integrations
Oomnitza offers pre-defined vendor extended integrations for over 150 diverse applications, such as vendor applications for managing assets, users, desktop software, SaaS apps and services, and much more.
They allow you to synchronize data from the external application to the asset or user object in Oomnitza.
Using vendor integrations, you can easily connect Oomnitza with the applications that you already use, with minimum setup.
For a list of vendor integrations, refer to the Integration list.
Custom extended integrations
Custom extended integrations give you even more flexibility. You can use custom integrations to
- Integrate with an application that is not supported by Oomnitza or does not appear in the list of vendor extended integrations
- Transfer integration data to an object other than users or assets.
- Transfer integration data to a custom object you have defined yourself, such as Security Certificates.
For example, you could use a custom extended integration to:
- Sync inventory levels from external inventory management systems directly into stockrooms in Oomnitza stockrooms and into accessories.
- Transfer security certificate data to a custom object that you created in Oomnitza.
- Sync desktop or SaaS software information from external systems directly into Oomnitza's software object.

Choose where you store your credentials
When you create an integration, you can choose:
- A cloud installation
- A local installation
Cloud installation. You create and store your credentials in the Oomnitza vault. Credentials are stored in a protected environment within Oomnitza's infrastructure.
Local installation. Your credentials are stored on your own virtual machine or server. You are in charge of managing your credentials in your own environment.
Restriction
For integrations that require AWS or OAUTH authentication, you can't store credentials locally.
Basic integrations
Basic integrations are set up, configured, and managed on a server in your network.
You use basic integrations to sync with vendor applications that must be hosted locally on a server in your network such as Microsoft SCCM, MunkiReport, and Cisco Jasper. Unlike extended integrations, basic integrations ingest only assets, software, and user data.
Basic integrations are restricted to your server for setup, configuration, and management. Consider transitioning from basic to extended integrations to gain the following benefits:
SaaS Management integrations
You can synchronize SaaS systems with your Oomnitza instance by using login and integration information from your single sign-on (SSO) identity provider.
As well as retrieving a list of SaaS systems and SaaS users, the synced systems can be associated with contracts. You can gain greater insights into SaaS usage, seat availability, and user activity. Based on the analysis of the SaaS activity information, you can budget better and determine whether you can save costs by unsubscribing users from SaaS systems.
Shadow IT integrations
Put the spotlight on Shadow IT! You can synchronize Oomnitza with Shadow IT applications such as Netskope and Savvy to capture information about the unsanctioned applications that users access.
See Netskope Shadow IT and Savvy Shadow IT.
SSO integrations
SSO and SAML allow for the seamless login of a user into Oomnitza, which allows the user to bypass the login screen. JIT provisioning is also supported. It enables new users who are already validated in your SSO to access Oomnitza with a predefined role.
Service desk integrations
Service desk integrations integrate with external ticketing systems such as FreshService, Jira, Salesforce Service Cloud, ServiceNow, and Zendesk. Users can access ticketing information and raise tickets about the devices that are managed in Oomnitza in the external ticketing system. And, users can view the tickets associated with the devices in their Oomnitza instance.
API integrations for workflows
Bi-directional API for a single object, such as an endpoint or user record. You can use web services to retrieve more data about an object or send data about an object from Oomnitza to a third-party system. Multiple built-in integration points (presets) are available for assets, users, and SaaS users that can be used in workflows to automate complex tasks. Customers can also define their own integration points in Oomnitza such as integration points for Postman.
REST API for outbound integrations
External developers are provided with access to the Oomnitza data model.
To browse the officially supported REST APIs, from the menu click Configuration > Integrations > Rest APIs (Swagger Docs).
To access the REST APIs, you must insert a valid security token in the REST API header call.
Vendor integrations for purchasing information
The standardized push of purchasing information for new assets from vendors, such as CDW and SHI, into Oomnitza. To push purchasing information, vendors use the CreateAsset
REST API.
EXCEL and CSV integrations
In the Oomnitza user interface, you can use the import and export features to load and share data.
