Update Block: Overview

Use the Update block to change or clear values in record fields.

You have the following types of update options:

Update. Change the value in a selected fields. You specify the values for one or more of the fields that you want to update.  

Coding. Use Jinja code to change the value in a field.

Cleanup. Clear the values in one or more fields.

Tip
You can use the bulk edit feature to update one or more fields. See Bulk editing records.

Depending on the business process that you want to automate, you add additional blocks such as

• A Notify block to inform you of a workflow error. 
• An API block to perform a specific action such as updating a user or a ticket in an external system. 
• A Decision block to approve or reject the workflow before it updates the field values.
