Make it easy to access the data that is ingested when expense, invoice, and purchase order integrations sync with Oomnitza.
Tutorial objective
In this tutorial, a Finance menu item with the following three submenu items will be added:
- An Expenses submenu item
- An Invoices submenu item
- A Purchase Orders submenu item
These menu and submenu items will be added to the Oomnitza UI for super administrators.
To access the line items linked to each expense, invoice, and purchase order record, a custom tab will be created. When a user clicks on a record, they can click the custom tab to view the related line items.
Adding the menu and menu subitems
- Click Configuration.
- From the Security menu, click Roles.
- Click the Super Administrator record and click the NAVIGATION tab.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Add primary navigation menu item
.
- Enter the name of the menu item such as Finance.
- Click Add secondary navigation menu item.
- Add the name of the submenu item such as Purchase Orders.
- Select Purchase Orders as the object.
- Optional. You can add a search that you saved to control access to records such as records by region, and so on.
- Repeat Steps 6-9 as object for the Invoices submenu item, select Invoices, and as object for the Expenses submenu item, select Expenses.
- Save your changes.
Result
You have successfully created a Finance menu item with a Purchase Orders, Invoices, and Expenses submenu items.
Creating custom tabs to view line items
To drill down into the line items linked to expenses, invoices, and purchase orders, you create a custom tab.
Important
Before you create custom tabs, you must run the integrations.
In this scenario a custom Line Items tab is created for purchase orders. You can follow the same procedure to create custom tabs for expenses and invoices.
- Log in to Oomnitza as super administrator.
- From the menu, click Finance. The Purchase Orders page displays.
- Click a record.
- Click the Actions menu
and select the screen builder
.
- Click Add new tab.
- Enter the name of the custom tab such as Line Items.
- As Related Object, select Purchase Order Line Items.
- As Related Filed, select Purchase Order.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Save your screen builder changes.
Result
When you click a purchase order record, you can click the Link Items tab in the sidebar to view the linked records.
