To add software users to contracts, you can use the add users feature in the Software module.
Depending on the type of contract and the type of software, such as SaaS or desktop software, the procedure for adding users to contracts varies.

You can assign users to SaaS contracts on the Software page.
- From the menu, click Software.
- Click a SaaS software record.
- Click the USERS tab, and click Add users.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Use a saved search
- Add specific users
Use a saved search
- Select the search to add users.
- Optional. Add the emails of additional users.
- If a single contract is associated with the software, the users are added to that contract. If two or more contracts are associated with the software, then you can select the contract.
- Click Add Users.

- Enter the email addresses of the users.
- Click Add Users.

Add users to single key contracts for desktop software
You can add users to desktop software contracts and they are automatically assigned to the license key if it has available seats.
- Click Desktop.
- From the menu, click Software.
- Click the desktop software record, and then click the USERS tab.
- Click Add users.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Use a saved search
- Add specific users

- Select the search to add users.
- Optional. Add the emails of additional users.
- If a single contract is associated with the software, the users are added to that contract. If two or more contracts are associated with the software, then you can select the contract.
- Click Add Users.
Result
If the license key has available seats, the users are added.

Add users to multikey contracts for desktop software
You can add users to desktop software contracts and automatically assign them to the license keys with available seats.
- From the menu, click Software.
- Click the Desktop tab.
- Click the desktop software record and then click the USERS tab.
- Click Add users.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Use a saved search
- Add specific users

- Select the search to add users.
- Optional. Optional. Add the emails of additional users.
- If a single contract is associated with the software, the users are added to that contract. If two or more contracts are associated with the software, then you can select the contract.
- Chose one of the following options:
- Auto assign. The users are automatically assigned to a license key with available seats.
- Disable auto assign.
- Click Add Users.
Result
If you selected auto assign, the users are automatically assigned to licenses with available seats.
If you disabled auto assign, you must select a license key for each user that you added.
Add specific users
- Enter the email addresses of the users.
- If a single contract is associated with the software, the users are added to that contract. If two or more contracts are associated with the software, then you can select the contract.
- Chose one of the following options:
- Auto assign. The users are automatically assigned a license key.
- Disable auto assign. You must select the license key for the users that you add.
- Click Add Users.
