If you want want to calculate contract costs in currencies other than USD (US dollar), GBP (pound sterling), and Euro, you can add the new currency.
About adding currencies
You must add values for the following fields:
- Name
- Full Currency Name
- Decimal
If you use other currencies besides your company currency, you must enter a value in the Rate to company currency field.
Tip
To easily manage the custom objects that you were granted access to, such as currencies, you can add custom objects as a menu item to the menu bar in your Oomnitza instance. That way, you can quickly access and edit your custom objects. You can also add records, import, and export custom objects.
Procedure
If you need to add another currency, complete these steps:
- From the menu, click Data Model > Objects.
- Enter currency in the search field.
- Click the numerical value in the in the Total records column.
- To add a new record, click Add
.
- Enter the international currency code as the name of the currency such as Yen.
- Enter the name of the currency such as Japanese Yen for Yen.
- Enter the number of decimal places such as 2.
- Enter the currency sign.
- Enter the conversation rate for the currency to your company currency. Let's say your company currency is US dollar, and you add Japanese yen to record the costs of some contracts. You enter the Japanese yen to US dollar conversion rate.
- Click SAVE.
Added custom objects as a menu item to the menu bar? Click the menu item, then click the Currency tab, and then complete steps 4 to 10 above.
Tip
In Windows, you can use the Character Map to paste the currency sign into the Sign field. On a Mac, you can use the Character Viewer.
