Get a head start when you customize the tab page view of records for roles. Instead of starting from scratch, you can copy the tabs of a source role to a target role. Then, you can customize the tabs of the target role.
Tip
Ensure that the target role has the appropriate permissions for the object so that they can view the information on the new tabs that you create for the user role.
Procedure
- From, the menu, select an object such as Hardware.
- Click Add.
- From the Actions
list in the sidebar, select Screen builder.
- From the Role list, select the target role. That is the role that you want to copy the tab settings to.
- Click Copy screen builder settings

- From the Source Role list, select the role that you want to use to copy the settings.
- Click Override all
if you want replace the settings of the target role with those of the source role.
- From the Copy list, you can copy all the tabs or a selection of tabs and you can select the groups of fields that you want include on each tab page.
- Click Apply.

Depending on the tab page, you can configure each tab page for the target role. For example, you might want to hide tabs or fields in tabs not relevant to the user's role. You can also add custom tabs to provide additional information that is relevant to the user's role.
