You use normalization to standardize the data values that are ingested by Oomnitza.
Oomnitza can ingest data manually and from many different sources such as integrations with vendor applications, custom integrations, and spreadsheets.
Vendor applications, for example, might use different data values for the same field which means that the data values become inconsistent in Oomnitza. For example, different vendor applications might use different values for operating systems such as Microsoft Windows or MS Windows for the Windows operating system.
The purpose of normalization is to automate the standardization of the values of data fields to make the data consistent in Oomnitza and to make it easier to analyze and report on the data.
You complete the following steps to normalize data in Oomnitza:
- Create a normalization. A normalization serves as a container for the normalization rules.
- Add one one or more normalization rules. Normalization rules replace added or ingested values with the value that you specify.
- Apply rules for the normalization to a field.
