Applying normalization rules

Run the normalization for the field to apply the normalization rules to the data that is ingested or added to Oomnitza.

Tip
You can run the dependency checker to find out if the field that you want to normalize is used in searches and workflows so that you can modify the searches and workflows later. See Archiving fields. 

Procedure

1. Click Configuration > Data Model > Field Configuration.
2. Select an object.
3. Click the field.
4. From the Normalization list, select the normalization that contains the rules for changing the values of the field.
5. Click SAVE.
6. Click the field again so you can run the normalization. 
7. Click RUN . A message displays informing you that the action can't be undone and how many records will be updated.
8. Click YES.

Verify your changes

Open the object, such as Accessories, in list view and check the changes that were made to the field's values.

If, when you ran the dependency checker, you detected that the field is used in searches and workflows make sure you modify and test the searches and workflows.  

Note
When you run a normalization, it's recorded on the Activities page. The name of the user who ran the normalization and the timestamp are provided.
