Create a detailed report that shows location information and related asset information.
Note
At least read permissions for locations and assets are required.
Scenario
In this case, you want to focus on the location of the assets, and you want to enrich the information with asset information.
Let's say you added a custom field called Region to Locations and as options for the Location Type field, you added:
- Distribution Center
- HQ
- Office Branch
- Stockroom
So, when you add location records, you can specify the region and you can track more accurately the location of assets.
Procedure
- Click Locations.
- In the list view, you can create a search to refine location data.
- Expand Related Views, and then click Assets.
- You can complete the following actions to refine the asset data that is displayed and exported:
- Click More actions
and select Hide to remove a column.
- Select a column and drag and drop it to another position.
- Click More actions
- Click Export
to download the report.
Result
In the screen capture, a selection of the related asset information is displayed.
When you download the report, you can refine the information that is shown about the related object - in this case, assets - to share key information with colleagues.
Tip
You can also create a report about assets and its related location information. Try it out! Go to Hardware and click Related Views.
