Creating rules for scanning barcodes

You can create barcode scan rules to control how barcodes are scanned using the Assets by Oomnitza app.

The rules that are created apply to all users of the Assets by Oomnitza app. 

1. Click Configuration > General > Barcode scan rules.
2. Add rules
3. Click Save. 

Supported barcode rules

Take barcode after

Captures the barcode after the first specified value. 

Take barcode before

Captures the barcode before the first specified value.

Delete the character

Deletes matching values from a barcode. 

Custom trimming rule

You can use Starts with or Ends with conditions to trim trailing or leading values. For example, if a barcode Ends with 893214, then trim the first 5 leading values.

You can add multiple rules. Rules are processed in top-to-bottom order.
