Permissions
Best practice is for administrators to create dedicated roles for app users. To use the app, users must have at least read permissions for assets. To use all of the app’s features, such as editing and bulk editing, add and edit permissions for assets are required. See Granting role permissions
Click Configuration > General > Mobile Screen Builder.

- Enable the mobile phone camera to scan assets and upload media.
- Enable the external scanner to scan assets and upload media.
Configuring the app screens
- As you configure the screens, the mockup on the HOME PAGE is updated to reflect the changes that you make such as
- The scan actions you add
- The actions section title and the actions that you add
Configuring the block view of for asset details
To change the fields that are shown in the tile for the Assets by Oomnitza app, a user with the appropriate permissions for assets must log into the Oomnitza instance and reconfigure the block view of the Assets page and save the changes.
Adding rules for scanning barcodes
Administrators can control how barcodes are scanned by creating barcode scan rules in the Configuration > General > Barcode scan rules menu.
Administrators can also perform the following actions in their Oomnitza instance to set the app behavior:
- Specify the maximum allowable file size and supported file extensions for any uploaded media. See Global attachment settings.
- Set a limit on the number of asset records that can be edited. See Global system settings. You use the
system.bulk_edit_records_limit
