The Oomnitza Fall 2023 Release is poised to redefine the user experience, with its primary theme focusing on the elevated and expanded Oomnitza Store, formerly known as Best Practices. The Store offers an extensive range of applications and content, including integrations, request offerings, and workflows, to bolster key business processes.
In addition to the expanded Store offerings, the Fall release is set to introduce a range of new features and enhancements. Below is a preliminary list of features that are currently targeted for inclusion in this release.
Custom relationships
This enhancement unlocks a wide range of opportunities allowing the creation of one-to-one or one-to-many relationships across objects. It enables the creation of new tabs in the Screen Builder to display related objects. For instance, to link hardware assets to a contract, you can create a new tab and view all related hardware assets directly from the contract.
Enhanced role management
This feature enables administrators to copy the settings of an existing role using the Screen Builder when creating a new role.
Expand custom integrations to all objects
In the prior release, the ability to create custom integrations was introduced for assets and users. This release expands this capability to include all objects, even custom ones.
Defining workflow custom variables as dropdowns for use in surveys
Custom variables have been extended to all objects, with enhancements specifically designed to enhance user experience within surveys. These include the ability to leverage a saved search (to restrict the selection to a subset of values), use dropdowns over type ahead, and enable the inclusion of an image for each record.
Anonymize users
This feature allows authorized users to select one or multiple users to anonymize, ensuring all personal information, such as names and email addresses, is anonymized to align with organizational requirements and comply with legislation such as GDPR.
Hard deletion of records
Before this release, users could only archive records without the option to delete the record from the database once archived. This enhancement empowers authorized users to perform this data management task.
SaaS Management Integration (SMI) improvements
SMI improvements encompass improved retry logic to continue where it last failed and enhanced summary info and error handling.
Workflow enhancements
New workflow enhancements include:
- Coding option added to Update Block: The new Coding option leverages Jinja to support multiple lines, accessing the data model and workflow variables.
- Validate Jinja expressions: An Assistant and Test Run feature have been added to the API, Conditional Threshold, Oomnitza, and Update blocks to assist in validating and previewing Jinja expressions, potentially reducing development and testing time.
- New feature-rich editor: A new built-in editor has been incorporated into the API, Conditional Threshold, Oomnitza, and Update blocks, providing syntax highlighting and auto-completion, facilitating effortless and precise coding.
Artificial intelligence feature
Several AI enhancements have been introduced that leverage a new, opt-in feature known as the Assistant. The Assistant, provides you with the ability to generate Jinja expressions, create messages within the Notify block, and conduct natural language record searches. To activate the Assistant, you'll need to enable a global setting in your instance.
For instructions on how to enable this setting and activate the Assistant, refer to the Enabling the Assistant page.
For information on how data is handled by the Assistant, refer to the Assistant and Data Privacy page.
Enhanced Media tab
The user experience on the Media tab has been enhanced by enabling you to quickly preview and enlarge an image without the need to download it.
List view user experience improvements
Introducing a new and more modern UI, with enhancements such as the removal of gridlines for a cleaner look, the addition of new and more intuitive controls to configure the page, and the inclusion of a counter to identify the number of rows selected.
Unassign user from a contract
Prior to this release, the contract assignment rules did not support the un-assignment of a user once the assignment conditions no longer matched. Now in this release, the un-assignment will occur if the assignment conditions are no longer met.
Enhanced filtering with accessories
We've added filtering so that you instantly see accessories relevant to you when adding them to a stockroom.
Accelerate time-to-value
The upgraded QuickStart Wizard empowers and guides new customers through the steps to select and implement core asset use cases including gap coverage, data quality, and auditing.
Expansion of integration capabilities
The Fall release continues to expand our integration capabilities which now encompass over 1,250 integration points across over 150 technologies.
More details on the additional integrations and integration enhancements will be provided in the upcoming release notes. Please contact your Oomnitza representative if you have any questions.
