The theme of the Oomnitza Winter 2024 release is data normalization with a focus on data consistency. Regardless of the data source, the data streamed into Oomnitza or added manually can be made consistent by applying normalization rules.
This is a preliminary list of the main features and feature enhancements that are currently targeted for inclusion in the Winter 2024 release.
The Winter 2024 release is now available. See Winter 2024. Check out the videos highlighting the new features.
Data normalization
You stream large volumes of data from multiple vendor applications. One asset integration calls Windows operating systems Microsoft Windows, another MS Windows, and another Windows. In Oomnitza, you want the same thing to have the same name regardless of the data source. To do this, you will be able to apply normalization rules to the data added and streamed into Oomnitza such as the names of operating systems and manufacturers. Just add normalization rules to change the name from Microsoft Windows to Windows, and from MS Windows to Windows and when the data is ingested, you will get the same name for the same thing. Clean, consistent data that is easier to analyze and exploit.
Unified view of stockroom accessories
With the unified view of all accessories in all of your stockrooms, you will be able to surface business critical information on dashboards and in reports. You can create dashboards that help you manage stock levels such as dashboards that show accessory min and max stock levels and dashboards that show which accessories are out on loan.
Notifications
What was Workstream is now Notifications. Notifications is the landing page for all your internal communications. With Notifications you will gain greater visibility of internal communications and you will be able to monitor user participation in surveys and monitor whether requests for Store offerings were accepted or rejected. Page too busy? Mark messages as read or click a tab and review notifications that are pending, completed, or expired.
Dashboards
With the functional and usability enhancements made to dashboards, users will be able to create their own private dashboards and get at-a-glance visibility of the data that is important to them. And, if a user has the appropriate permissions, they can share their private dashboards with colleagues.
To ensure that users can only view dashboards that are relevant to their role, administrators will have greater control over granting dashboard permissions. Administrators will be able to grant permissions for adding, editing, and deleting private dashboards to users without granting them permissions to dashboards not relevant to their role.
Bulk edit
The bulk edit feature has been transformed. The enhanced bulk edit feature makes it easy to select fields in records and guides you through the process from start to finish. Instead of being overwhelmed with a list of all the fields that you can bulk edit, you choose the fields that you want to edit. You can add and remove records and fields easily, so you see what you need to see to get your records updated.
The bulk edit feature will be available for all objects which, of course, includes the custom objects that you created. In addition, administrators have a more granular control over granting bulk edit permissions. They can grant permissions for one or more objects, such as assets and accessories, and they can apply different bulk edit limits for each object. Administrators can also extend bulk edit permissions to edit read-only fields.
Highlight key information in records
You will be able to use conditional formatting to highlight the information that is important to your role for the custom objects that you create or manage. You can add rules to target information such as fields that don't contain information that you need so that you can take action. You can highlight rows when a critical status is reported or use date ranges to create rules to highlight new or updated records.
Recommendations
To guide customers as they expand the management of their technology portfolio, Oomnitza will automatically detect the vendor applications that they are managing and recommend out-of-the-box packages, such as endpoint protection and data hygiene packages, that they can download to help them better manage their technology portfolio.
