Fall 2023: AI and Enhanced Security Configurations

Two notable configuration enhancements are set to appear in the upcoming Fall 2023 release. The first relates to the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI), and the second involves enhanced security measures for users of Oomnitza Service Desk integrations.

Artificial Intelligence 

The newly introduced AI feature is an opt-in setting that integrates with OpenAI's third-party service. This enhancement empowers users to leverage the ‘Assistant', a feature planned for the Fall 2023 release. The 'Assistant' is designed to elevate the user experience within several facets of Oomnitza by providing guidance and simplification for advanced workflow needs, creating Jinja code, generating notify block messages, and conducting natural language record searches.

Important

No action is required if you wish to opt out. This feature is strictly opt-in and is disabled by default. For details on enabling it within your instance, refer to the Enabling the Assistant page

We understand that data privacy is of utmost importance to our users.  We want to clarify how user data is handled and ensure transparency regarding the information shared with OpenAI. When using the Assistant, no personal data or any record data is sent to OpenAI. The AI enhancements are exclusively accessible through a new opt-in setting, which is deactivated by default, allowing you the choice to enable and benefit from the advancements powered by OpenAI.

In advance of the launch of the "Assistant", OpenAI has been included in the Third-party subprocessor list on the Oomnitza website. 

Enhanced Security for Service Desk Integrations

The second configuration change is the result of continued improvements to our security and Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) policy. CORS is a browser security feature that allows web pages from one domain to safely access resources from another. Oomnitza's service desk integrations use CORS for direct browser-to-server communications.
