The Data Hygiene package is a comprehensive solution for maintaining data hygiene across your IT asset portfolio. The information that is surfaced on the dashboard provides you with actionable insights into key information that is missing and that is vital to your organization. At a glance, you see:
- The total number of endpoints that you manage
- The devices that are missing vital information or have incomplete information
- Discrepancies in the assignment of devices to users
The insights that you gain enable you to take immediate action to rectify data hygiene issues by running workflows that ensure that any discrepancies in data are promptly identified and rectified, allowing for an accurate reflection of your assets.
Use the Data Hygiene package to elevate data hygiene practices, and enforce the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of your IT asset data, enabling informed decision-making and streamlined asset management.
Apply the package
- Click Configuration > Store.
- Locate the package and click Apply.
- Click Yes to apply the package.
Result
The package is added to the list of packages in Configuration > Migrations > Packages.

Data hygiene dashboard and widgets
From the Dashboard menu, select Data Hygiene.
Gain valuable insights and actionable insights by reviewing the information that is displayed on the Data Hygiene dashboard.
The following widgets were added to to generate chart:
- Total Endpoints Over Time - Bar chart. Counts the number of devices over the last 12 months for Total Endpoints, Total Laptops, and Total Mobile Devices.
- Total Laptops Over Time - Bar chart. Counts the laptops over the last 12 months.
- Total Mobile Devices Over Time - Bar chart. Counts the mobile devices over the last 12 months.
- Discrepancies of User Assignments - Counter chart. Identifies the devices with the Integration User Discrepancy Flag set to True.
- Active Endpoints with no Assigned User - Counter chart. Active assets that are currently unassigned. Active assets are determined by the Technology Status field.
- Endpoints Missing: (Status) - Counter chart
- Endpoints Missing: (Model) - Counter chart
- Endpoints Missing: (IP Address) - Counter chart
- Endpoints Missing: (Serial Number) - Counter chart
- Endpoints Missing: (Manufacturer) - Donut chart
- Endpoints Missing: (Asset Type) - Donut chart
- Endpoints Missing: Warranty End Date - Counter chart. Dell and Lenovo devices without warranty end dates.
- Endpoint Integration - Table. Integrations that have run in the past 7 days.
Data model fields
The data model field Integration User Discrepancy Flag was added to asset records. It plays a pivotal role in identifying devices with user data discrepancies, allowing for quick identification and rectification.
Click Configuration > Data Model > Field Configuration and search for discrepancy.
The following fields were added to the Assets object:
- Integration User Discrepancy (Checkbox)
- Integration User Discrepancy (Date)
- Integration User Discrepancies (Long text)
Saved searches
Preconfigured saved searches are embedded in the asset and user pages and are used to inform the data that is displayed in the widgets. These are designed to identify data hygiene discrepancies across various fields, such as serial number, status, model, asset type, warranty end date, and manufacturer - mirroring the insights provided by the widgets.
To review the saved searches, click Hardware > All Assets and select a search from the list. Alternatively, on the Dashboard, click Configure widget, scroll down to the saved search, and click the link to view. You can also click a counter or chart or segment in a chart to view the saved search.

Workflows
To review the workflows, click Configuration > Workflows and search for [Data Enrich].
[Data Enrich] Set missing Asset Type. Scans and updates the Technology Type for new assets based on keywords found in the Model field. For example, the mobile phone workflow checks for model names that contain pixel or nexus and updates the corresponding Asset Type to Mobile Phone.

[Data Enrich] Set missing Manufacturer for Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, and other devices. Scans and updates the Manufacturer field for new assets based on specific keywords found in the Model field. For example, the Apple workflow scans model names matching “imac” or “ipad” and updates the corresponding Manufacturer to Apple. For Dell and Lenovo, additional blocks fetch and populate the Warranty End Date field, utilizing their respective APIs.
