Make it easy for the IT department to identify users who are eligible for a tech refresh. The package sets a refresh eligible date based on a preconfigured period which can be specified for each type of device. When the refresh eligible date is reached, a survey is automatically submitted to users so that they can choose a new model and request a replacement.
Apply the package
- Click Configuration > Store.
- Locate the package and click Apply.
- Click Yes to apply the package.
Result
The package is added to the list of packages in Configuration > Migrations > Packages.

Tech Refresh dashboard and widgets
The Tech Refresh dashboard has multiple preconfigured widgets which are used to surface key information in charts that provide you with insights into which users are eligible for a tech refresh and when they are eligible for a tech refresh.
The following widgets were added to generate bar charts:
- Upcoming Refresh by Location
- Upcoming Tech Refreshes by Month
- Upcoming Tech Refresh Totals by Asset Type
The following widgets were added to generate donut charts:
- Models Requested
- Upcoming Refreshes by Status
A widget was added to to generate the Total Refresh Eligible Assets counter chart.
Data model fields
The following asset fields were added to the data model for the assets object:
- Refresh Eligible Date
- Refresh Eligible
- Model Requested
A custom object was created to add the following fields to the assets object:
- Request Models Available
- Asset Type Useful Life (mo) - (Field Only)
Saved searches
The following saved saved searches were added:
- Tech Refresh: Models Requested
- Tech Refresh: Refresh Eligible
- Tech Refresh: Upcoming Refresh Dates
If you want to review the search, you can click Configure widget
to open the saved search on a separate tab. To review the filter that was used to generate the information for a specific data point, click a column in the bar chart or a segment in a donut chart.
Workflows
The following workflows were added:
- [Set] Refresh Eligible Date. Set the date that an asset is eligible for a refresh based on the purchase date. The refresh period can be configured for each type of asset.
- [Set] Refresh Eligibility. Before the refresh date arrives, a confirmation will be requested to confirm that the asset is eligible for a refresh.
- [Tech Refresh] Device Survey., A survey is submitted to the user which requests the user to choose a model that they want as a replacement.
