Asset Assignment

Make it easy to manage the assignment of assets to users. Surface key information on dashboards so that you can take actions such as:

• Assigning assets that have been purchased, but not assigned to users.
• Recovering assets from inactive users.
• Detecting and resolving discrepancies such as the assignment of the same asset to more than one user. 

Apply the package

1. Click Configuration > Store.
2. Locate the package and click Apply.
3. Click Yes to apply the package.

Result

The package is added to the list of packages in Configuration > Migrations > Packages.

Asset Assignment dashboard and widgets

From the Dashboard menu, select Asset Assignment.

 The following widgets were added to to generate charts:

• Users by Department (Bar Chart)

• Users by Location (Bar Chart)

• Devices Recovered Last 7 Days (Count)

• Deployed Endpoints - To Be Collected (Bar Chart)

• Inactive Users with Devices (Count)

• Users w/ >1 Endpoint (Count)

• Users w/ >1 Laptop (Count)

• Active Users w/o Laptop (Count)

• Deprovisioned Users (Count)

Data model

The following asset fields were added to the Data Model:

• Integration User Discrepancies
• Integration User Discrepancy Date
• Integration User Discrepancy Flag
• Integration User Trigger

Saved searches

The following saved saved searches were added:

• Audit: Total Device Count > 1
• Audit: Total Laptop Count > 1
• Audit: Laptop Count = 0 (Active Users)
• Deployed Endpoints - To Be Collected
• Deprovisioned Users
• Inactive Users with Devices
• Recovery Date

If you want to review the saved search that was used to generate the information in the chart, click Configure widget. Scroll down to the Saved search field and click the link. To review the filter that was used to generate the information for a specific data point, click a chart or chart element.

Workflows

The following workflows were added:

• [Set] Device Count. Sets the number of devices assigned to a user.
• [Set] Recovery Date. If an asset is to be recovered, the date is set to when when the process begins.
• [Set] Assigned To from integrations. Compares the username coming in from integrations and sets the Assigned To field.
• [Clear] Integration User Validation Fields. Clears the fields used for Integration User validations.
