Use stacked bar charts to compare categories of data, such as unencrypted devices by location, with the ability to break down and compare the parts to the whole.
Mock-up of stacked bar chart
For example, in a stacked chart, the unencrypted devices in a location can be broken down into segments that show the names of users who have an unencrypted device in a specific location.

- Click Add Widget.
- Select Stacked bar chart as the chart type.
- Enter the chart name.
- Choose who can view the chart. By default, the chart is visible to all users who have dashboard privileges.
- Select Allow table view. When selected, users can switch from chart to table view.
- Enter a link to a document to provide users with more information about the dashboard.

- From the Field list, select a field. Let's say you want to create a stacked bar chart that shows the number of unencrypted devices on the y-axis, the location on the x-axis, and you want to break down each column by the name of the user that has an unencrypted device. In this scenario, you select Assigned to as the field.
- In the Empty value title field, enter the name of the label that you want to show when no data is available.
- Click SAVE.
Tip
The bar chart is created. You can click on the bars to get a detailed view of the information.
Decomposition
For stacked bar charts, you add a right-sidebar that shows additional information about the chart. Let's say, you create a stacked bar chart for assets by location. And, you want to have a breakdown of the assets that are shown by status.
In the Decomposition section on the Widget Configuration field, you select Status as the Name.
You can also add an Empty Value Title. For example, if the status value for an asset is unavailable, you might add Status Unavailable in the Empty Value Title field.
