Create dashboards to visualize the information that is critical to your business operations. Get actionable insights at a glance from the information and metrics that are ingested by Oomnitza.
You can create dashboards that quickly transform information into compelling charts. Depending on the information that is added to Oomnitza or ingested by Oomnitza, you can create a chart that shows devices that are security compliant, devices that are reaching end-of-warranty, asset purchase prices, SaaS annual spend, and much more.
Tip
You can also download packages from the Oomnitza Store that include dashboards that surface business critical information.
Dashboard permissions
Administrators have granular control over user role access to dashboards.
Click Configuration > Security > Roles. Select a role, click the PERMISSIONS tab, and expand the Manage dashboards section.
Administrators can prevent access, provide read access, or provide extensive access such as add, edt, and delete access. They can also allow users to add, edit, and delete private dashboards without granting them permissions to dashboards not relevant to their role. Administrators can also enable or disable the autorefresh feature for dashboards.
Tip
By default, autorefresh is disabled when new roles are added. For roles added before the Fall 2024 release, autorefresh is enabled. An ideal opportunity for system administrators to take advantage of the new feature by enabling auto refresh only for roles that require the automatic refresh feature.
Note
If users have no permissions to roles, they can share their private dashboards only with users who have the same role as them. To allow users to share private dashboards with users who have different roles, access must be granted to roles in the Configuration section on the role Permissions page. See Granting role permissions.
Saved searches for dashboards
To refine the information that is used to generate searches, you can create searches or use the searches that you created or that other users created. To use saved searches to create searches that you can share with other users, they must be saved as public or role-specific searches.
On private dashboards, you can use private searches to create charts. You do this when you want to create a chart for your own use. You can't share charts that use saved private searches.
